This story leaves me with so many questions like why did he live a life of if not poverty then very basic when he had all that money. Did he just like investing as a hobby. I guess we’ll never know.

Great illustration of the power of dividends though. It reminds me of that great chart from Scottish Widows (I think?) I’ve seen used in article on here a couple of times that also demonstrate the amazing power of dividends reinvested.

The Scottish Widows chart is in the following page @citygirl. It shows £100 invested in the stock market in 1950 growing to £153,000 by 2013 with the dividends reinvested. that’s mental!
