Tax on profit from investment?

#1

Hi! I have a quick question - I was wondering how tax works on returns and/or profits from investment trusts, as I can’t seem to find anything about that. Is it the same as normal income, so tax paid can be easily calculated on sites like income-tax.co.uk, or is it something totally different?

Thanks very much in advance!

You can find the answer in the beginners guide on this site,. It says : " Investment trusts pay the standard tax on their investment income, but not on capital gains. This is to make sure that shareholders in investment trusts are not taxed twice: once on the underlying investments, and again on the investment trust shares themselves".
